About Me

Hi, my name is Courtney Mendenhall. I was born and raised in Danville, Virginia. I am a 2017 graduate of Radford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies with a Journalism concentration, with a minor in Spanish.

I was involved with Radio Free Radford, the student media internet radio station, for three years. During my sophomore and junior year, I served as General Manager. As a sophomore, I was a public address announcer during fall semester for women’s volleyball, and men’s and women’s soccer games.

I was a freelance writer for my hometown’s newspaper, The Danville Register & Bee during my junior year. After completing my junior year, I worked as an intern at WAKG and WBTM radio stations in Danville, Virginia through the Virginia Association of Broadcasters. As a senior, I wrote articles for Radford’s School of Communication website.

Currently, I am the Assistant Varsity Softball coach at George Washington High School in Danville.

My ultimate career goals include becoming a sports writer and give back to the sports community.

During my spare time, I love to listen to music, watch and play sports, write, and spend time outdoors.
